Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol [Blu-ray]

Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol [Blu-ray] Review

Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol [Blu-ray] Overview

Matt Smith and Karen Gillan return as the Doctor and his companion in an all-new Doctor Who Christmas special on Blu-ray and DVD. Amy and Rory are trapped on a crashing space liner, and the only way the Doctor can rescue them is to save the soul of a lonely old miser, Kazran Sardick. But is Sardick, the richest man in Sardicktown, beyond redemption? And what is lurking in the fogs of Christmas Eve? Writer/Executive Producer Stephen Moffat (The Original UK Coupling, Sherlock) describes the special, “We're going for broke with this one. It's all your favourite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And the Doctor. And a honeymoon. I've honestly never been so excited about writing anything. I was laughing madly as I typed along to Christmas songs in April.” Special guest stars include Michael Gambon (Harry Potter) and Welsh singing sensation Katherine Jenkins.

A Christmas Carol [Blu-ray] Specifications

In the same year that he directed a handsome version of The Scarlet Pimpernel for television, Clive Donner also made this worthy 1984 small-screen production of the Dickens tale. George C. Scott can't quite muster a decent English accent, but he does bring some new colors to this movie's interpretation of Scrooge, making the character less nasty for the sake of nastiness and more a product of a life of lovelessness. The supporting cast is first-rate, and the production is far more handsome than most TV fare. --Tom Keogh

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Special Edition)

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Special Edition) Review

Its an older film, but to me, the older ones are the best....I like this film I had the VHS version but when my VCR stopped rewinding, I decided it was time for the CD. Great film :)

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Special Edition) Overview

Make merry as Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid and an ensemble of comedy favorites strive to gift-wrap the "perfect Christmas" for the Griswold family. The most successful of the three vacations. Year: 1989 Director: Jeremiah S. Chechik Starring: Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid,

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Special Edition) Specifications

You know exactly what you're getting in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: another goofball, slapstick comedy of chaos and catastrophe with Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) and family. This time, there's no traveling involved: Clark and Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo) prepare for a nice Christmas with the kids (played by none other than Juliette Lewis and Roseanne star Johnny Galecki), when their home is invaded by backwoods cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) and his brood, along with assorted other crazy and/or stuffy relatives. Complications, of course, are inevitable. The film is preceded by National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) and National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985) and followed by National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation (1997). Directed by Jeremiah Chechik, who went on to do Benny & Joon and the Sharon Stone remake of Diabolique. --Jim Emerson
