Davy Crockett -Two Movie Set Review
For we baby boomers who remember our coonskin caps and toy rifles named Betsy, this trip down memory lane is an interesting period piece. My dear daughter-in-law says it is racist in the way Indians are portrayed. I agree with her, but didn't see that as a child. Battle scenes, the fight with the alligator, and wrestling the bear are all comic by today's action standards. Somewhere in there is something we all still search for in real life and in fiction, a hero. Davy Crockett became that hero to we baby boomers as children. And if I watch it now, for awhile I become that child, looking for a hero.
